IMPERIAL PERFORMING ARTS
1) Imperial Performing Arts Dr. David Calvo and wife, Dianne, ventured to Briscoe Manor to learn more about Fort Bend’s newest arts group—Imperial Performing Arts. IPA is a not-for-profit corporation established in 2008 with a goal of capturing the full range of professional performance arts and bringing them to the Sugar Land area.

2) Welcome Addition Bud and Susan Friedman and Gay and Mayor Jimmy Thompson welcomed IPA to Sugar Land. The event raised funds and awareness of the mission and purpose of the organization.

3) So Artsy! Local favs, Randy and Cindy Garbs, were pleased to be a part of the kickoff of the Performing Arts Society debut in Fort Bend and enjoyed artists in concert, including Grammy-winning artist Cynthia Clawson.

4) Arts, Arts, Arts The event made for a collective gathering of arts lovers, including locals Linda and Bill Anderson. More than 100 guests enjoyed dinner, a fabulous concert and after-dinner jazz.

“HIGH-TECH” TOASTS
5) Latest Dish Michael’s always got the dish, but this kind was even new for him. Elliot Wood, general manager of Kona Grill-Sugar Land, “toasts” Michael Garfield and the debut of a dish named in his honor, the High-Tech Tuna Tarter.

6) Cheers Michael Garfield says “cheers” to friends Alex Hill and Jacqueline Baly Chaumette at Olive’s Bar & Grill in Sugar Land to toast his namesake “High-Tech-tini.” Michael is a well-known technology expert known as the “High-Tech Texan.”

7) Latest Buzz If it beeps, buzzes or uses a remote control, chances are that Michael Garfield knows about it… but he also has a heart for literacy. Shown with friends from the Literacy Council of Fort Bend—Brenda Bowman, executive director; and Lizz Sansone, chairperson of the board. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the dish benefit the organization.

MAVERICK IMAGES: THE GALLERY
8) Maverick Celebrating the opening of Maverick Art Gallery in Fort Bend are Rocky Lai, John Roorda and owner Mike Loyd Young. Young is a world traveler who magnificently captures his travels through photographs—his most recent showcasing Asian culture.

9) Picture Perfect Jackie Freeman and Janice Lowenstein had a great time at the opening of the gallery, which is located in The Offices of Riverstone.
