Arise! Cry out! Prayer event, nov. 14
Moms In Touch International is hosting an unprecedented worldwide prayer event,
Arise! Cry Out! on Nov. 14 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Williams Trace Baptist Church,
16755 Southwest Freeway.
This is a four-hour morning of prayer for moms of all ages, and moms are
scheduled to pray at host churches around the world for 24 hours.

lpga tour championship, nov. 17-22
The 2009 LPGA Tour Championship will be held Nov. 17-22 at The Houstonian Golf & Country Club. The event will feature a field of 120 of the top LPGA
professionals in the world, a $1.5 million purse and a unique format that will
see a cut after 36 holes to the low 70 professionals and an additional cut
after 54 holes to the low 30 pros.
Tickets for the 2009 LPGA Tour Championship can be purchased online at www.lpgatourchampionship.org or by phone at 877-LPGA-TIX. The cost for daily tickets, which allow grounds
access for any one day of tournament week (Wednesday-Sunday) is $20. Daily
parking passes are also available for $5 each. Weekly grounds passes are $60
and allow access to the tournament grounds for the entire week. All weekly
ticket purchases also include one complimentary weekly parking pass.
The LPGA Tour Championship will be broadcast on the Golf Channel from Nov.19-22.
New Hope Bazaar, Nov. 21
The 21st Annual New Hope Lutheran Church Community Bazaar will be held on Nov. 21 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with more than 70 arts and crafts booths, a Victorian
tea room and bakery, silent auction and raffle, theme gift baskets, fair trade
coffees, chocolates and decorator items and concessions by Sweet Mesquite.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photographs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Junior Clinic, nov. 21
Families are invited to attend the Ronald McDonald House Charities Junior Clinic
to be held at The Houstonian Golf
& Country Club driving range on Saturday, Nov. 21, starting at noon. Attendees will learn tips and tricks from LPGA teaching professionals and have
an opportunity to practice their putting and chipping. The clinic is open to
children aged 7-17 and is free of charge with tournament admission (which runs
Thursday, Nov.19, to Sunday, Nov. 22).

Bike the Bend for Literacy, Nov. 22
Whether you’re an avid cyclist, enjoy the exercise and scenery of cycling or are looking for
a good way to spend the day with your family, plan to join other riders on Nov.
22. That
’s the date for one of the county’s greatest biking events—Bike the Bend for Literacy, sponsored by Richmond Bone & Joint Clinic for the fourth year.
Bike the Bend is a BP MS 150 recommended ride benefiting the Literacy Council of
Fort Bend County and begins at 8 a.m., starting and finishing at Foster High
School, 4400 FM 723 in Richmond.
The event is strategically scheduled for the weekend before Thanksgiving. With
its scenic routes and first-rate rest stops, riders will find delicious fruit
and snacks from Whole Foods Market Sugar Land, a second time sponsor, as well
as a variety of cold beverages to fuel the ride. As in the past few years, Pei
Wei Asian Diner will be on-site after the ride with their delicious lettuce
wraps to top off the day.
Cyclists of all levels are invited to participate by choosing the route to suit
their time and ability: 19, 32 and 59 miles. Riders can register at
www.active.com or at www.ftbendliteracy.org. Event-day registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7 a.m., and only cash
and checks will be accepted at that time. More than 600 cyclists registered for
last year
’s event, so register early.
Pre-registration by Friday, Oct. 23, guarantees the rider a current-year Bike
the Bend T-shirt. The cost for pre-registration is $30 per rider. Registration
at the event is $40.

clara’s nutcracker tea, dec. 6
The BalletForte Guild invites you to join Clara and characters from BalletForte’s The Nutcracker at the annual Clara’s Nutcracker Tea. Clara will be greeting guests on Dec. 6 from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at
