Thomas Abraham, a Sugar Land City Council member, has been elected president of Texas
Municipal League Region 14
– San Jacinto Region-Houston Area. As president of the San Jacinto – Houston area region, Abraham will serve as presiding officer and chief
executive.
The TML has 15 regions, with each region expected to promote interest in
municipal government, facilitate information exchange among the cities in the
region and assist the TML board of directors in formulating policy that
represents the diverse interests of the state.
Abraham was elected to office on June 19, 2004. He is vice president of the
Sugar Land Development Corporation, chairman of Sugar Land Reinvestment Zone
No. 3 and serves as a board member on the Houston-Galveston Area Council. He is
a member of the Exchange Club of
Sugar Land, Fort Bend Rotary Club and Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.
Stephen Hann was elected a life director of the National Association of Home Builders at the
association
’s spring board of directors meeting in Washington, D.C.
Hann is the president of Hann Builders in Houston, a full service, design/build
custom builder and remodeler. The company has been in business since 1993 and,
besides numerous awards over the years, was named NAHB
’s Custom Builder of the Year for 2008.
Hann is also active in the Houston community through his work with Boy Scouts of
America, Child Advocates of Fort Bend County and Lakewood Church.
Kyle Atchison has been promoted to assistant vice president at Founders Bank with responsibility for commercial banking. His primary focus will include
helping companies achieve financial objectives using Founders Bank
’s extensive portfolio of business products and services.
Atchison joined Founders Bank in January 2008 as a credit analyst. He is a
graduate of Sam Houston State University, where he earned a bachelor
’s degree in finance/banking and financial institutions.
Deb Vangellow, director of instruction at Sweetwater Country Club, has been elected national
vice president for the Ladies Professional Golf Association Teaching and Club
Professionals.
She will serve the membership in this capacity with fellow LPGA member president
elect
Dana Rader, Top 100 Teacher and owner/operator of the Dana Rader Golf School in Charlotte,
N.C.

A LPGA Class A member, Vangellow holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of
Science Degree in Health/Physical Education/Coaching and Educational
Leadership/Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa and Miami (Ohio)
University, respectively.
Tracey Shaw has been promoted to the executive team at Texana Center as the director of
fundraising and community relations. Shaw joined Texana Center in September
2008 as community relations manager. Since arriving at Texana, her primary
focus was to create more awareness of Texana Center through the local
communities, its leaders and Texana parents.
In her broadened role, Shaw will be responsible for all fundraising activities,
media relations, marketing, community awareness and the volunteer program.
Andi Wallis joined the team at Texana Center as community relations manager. Wallis has
several years experience in marketing and community relations, and is familiar
with the counties that Texana Center serves, having grown up in Matagorda and
lived in Fort Bend counties.
Following an internship at Matagorda Regional Hospital, Wallis began her
marketing career at OakBend Medical Center and then went to HCA Kingwood
Medical Center where she gained experience in volunteer management.
Her most recent position was with West Oak Urgent Care Center where she was
involved in business development.
Bill Jameson and Jared Jameson of WJ Interests, LLC, have both been named in Texas Monthly magazine’s Five Star: Best in Client Satisfaction survey for 2009. The award was limited
to the top 7 percent of all wealth managers within the Houston market. Only
wealth managers with more than five year
’s experience in the industry were considered. This year’s survey appeared as a special section in the September issue of Texas Monthly.
As many as 200,000 consumers and 10,000 financial service professionals were
asked to evaluate up to three financial wealth managers, which included
financial planners, investment advisors, life insurance agents, attorneys and
bankers. Respondents were asked to evaluate only wealth managers who they knew
through personal experience and to evaluate them based on nine criteria:
customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee
charged, meets financial objectives, post-sale services, quality of
recommendations and overall satisfaction.
Memorial Hermann Healthcare System has teamed with the LPGA Tour Championship as its Official Healthcare Provider
and its Children
’s Memorial Hermann Hospital as the primary benefiting charity. Memorial Hermann,
which won the nation
’s top healthcare quality award in 2009, will provide on-course first aid for
patrons and medical support for the LPGA players.
Memorial Hermann will also have a presence at the tournament with its logo on
all the volunteer shirts and a tent where spectators can stop by and receive
more information about the services Memorial Hermann provides.
