SUGAR LAND CULTURAL ARTS FOUNDATION
Safari Texas had a full crowd at this year’s 8th annual Sugar Land Cultural Arts Foundation gala. In keeping with the event’s theme, “Taking the Stage,” local celebrities showed off their talents in Operation Sugar Cube, an original screenplay written by Cornelia Jones-Post. More than $60,000 was
raised at this year
’s event, which will go toward phase II renovations for the historic Lakeview
Auditorium, the oldest standing public building in Sugar Land.

The annual Girlfriend’s Giggle (aka Big Girl Pajama Party) is a night of good times and fun where

FORT BEND THEATRE
The Fort Bend Theatre, founded in 1989, featured The Wizard of Aahs, an entertaining performance that featured local celebs. The theater’s goal is to promote the arts and art education in the community. More than 100
productions and 100,000 excited audience members later, Fort Bend Theatre
continues to thrive, expand and strive for excellence and education in the
arts, while presenting unique opportunities for cultural enrichment to all of
Fort Bend County.

SUPER BALL IX
Fans of every team gathered at Safari Texas for Super Ball IX, the ninth-annual
football-themed event that raises funds for The American Red Cross. The casual,
tailgate party is traditionally held the weekend before the Super Bowl and
features a super-sized tailgate buffet, great auctions, sports games and band.

21) Bernadette Hurley (right) of the Go Hurley Group and Keller Williams Realty has
been a leading Realtor of the Dave Ramsey ELP (Endorsed Local Provider) network
for three years, and was invited to attend his business coaching summit in
Tennessee. After he led the group of 300 in the leadership program,
“How to thrive in 2010,” a group of 50 were invited to dinner at the Ramsey’s personal residence outside of Nashville. “I was honored to be included in the invitation and amazed at the humble nature
of both Dave and his wife,

22) Co-chairs Cherie Bauch and Ashley Grubbs were soaking in all the adventure at “Wacky Wonka and the Pancake Factory,” a super day of fun for kids, hosted by the Fort Bend Junior Service League and
benefiting Texas Children
’s Hospital. The morning included a “scrumdiddlyumptious” pancake breakfast, magical themed make-and take literature and craft
activities, book fair, face painting, and many more wild and wacky adventures
for the entire family.

Congratulations to Linda Bell and Bill Spears who recently got engaged! Linda is
a long-time Fort Bend resident who
“wooed” her beau from Frisco to make Sugar Land home. No word on a date yet, but it’s sure to be a beautiful wedding.
