All eager egg hunters and fans of the Easter bunny should make their way to Eldridge Park on Saturday, March 27, between noon and 3 p.m. for the city of Sugar Land ’s 26th Annual EGGStravaganza. Children up to 12 years old will be able to take part in the city ’s unique version of egg hunts, famously titled “egg scrambles,” for treat-filled eggs and the chance to win some special prizes.
Children with special needs will also be able to join in this afternoon of egg hunting fun with the return of an egg-scramble area designed for their needs. Following positive feedback from last year ’s successful introduction of a special needs area, beeping eggs and a hay bale course with eggs hidden at accessible heights will once again be available.
This year’s egg scramble schedule follows:
Ongoing throughout the event for special needs children; ongoing throughout the event for 4-year-olds and younger; 12:30 p.m. for 5-year-olds; 1 p.m. for 6-year-olds; 1:30 p.m. for 7-year-olds; 2 p.m. for 8- and 9-year-olds; 2:30 p.m. for 10-, 11- and 12-year-olds.
Parents should note that each scramble lasts about one minute and is not repeated. To avoid missing out, children should be at the scramble for their age group on time.
The Easter bunny will also be hopping in for this occasion and will be available for photo opportunities throughout the event. When not scrambling for eggs or meeting the Easter bunny, families will find plenty of other fun activities to participate in and fully enjoy a beautiful spring afternoon in the park.
All activities will be free and open to the public and refreshments will be sold. For more information, contact the Sugar Land Parks and Recreation Department at 281-275-2885 or visit www.sugarlandtx.gov.
