FORT BEND LEADERSHIP
FORUM HITS
WASHINGTON, D.C.
The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce recently took its Leadership Forum class to Washington, D.C. The three-day event is the program ’s annual National Government retreat to meet top elected officials and discover more about our government. More than 50 class members attended and everyone returned with memorable experiences and a greater appreciation of the nation ’s capital.
12) Brenda Thompson and Terrie Bradley visited during “BizMOM,” a new monthly networking group created for local moms in business.
13) Leadership Forum’s co-chairs Ray Aguilar and Trey Reichert took a moment to chat with Congressman Pete Olson (center).
14) Lisa Chahin and Carlos Sepeda ready for dinner at the Chop House.
15) Dr. Von Boeckmann hosted an Open House and customer appreciation party at his dental office on Highway 6. Along with his team, numerous happy clients attended the festive soiree … and all were smiling!
16) Houston Community College dedicated its new Missouri City Campus, a 50-acre master-planned site, near Sienna Parkway. Cutting the ribbon are Katie Herrington; Dr. Fena Garza, president, HCC-SW; HCC Trustee Neeta Sane; Dr. Mary Spangler, HCC chancellor; Missouri City Mayor Allen Owen; and Clarence Holliday, Congressman Al Green ’s office.
17) Class members Patty Martin Duhon and Alicia Marra enjoy a fun evening in D.C.
18) Chuck and Linda Howell ventured with Mark and Laura Millis to San Antonio for a fun get-away for the afternoon. The couples were “flying high” as Mark piloted for some aerial sightseeing, and then enjoyed a tryst around the Riverwalk.
19) Gen. William Suter, clerk of the United States Supreme Court, and Rick Pal take a moment for a photo opportunity after hearing from Gen. Suter on the “hot topics” facing the Supreme Court.

CASA Gala for
the Children
Fort Bend Leadership Forum Hits Washington, D.C.
CASA Gala for
the Children
OPA! Over 500 guests celebrated a night in Greece in May at the CASA Gala for the Children benefiting Child Advocates of Fort Bend. The gala raised an estimated $218,000 in support of abused and neglected children in Fort Bend County. One of the highlights of the evening was the featured speaker, Aldo Jefferson. Now an adult, Jefferson was served by CAFB as a child, and gave a moving talk about how his CASA volunteer had impacted his life. Child Advocates of Fort Bend touches the lives of more than 400 abused and neglected children each month.
20) Jim Sturgeon of Founders Bank with wife and gala chair, Sharla Sturgeon
21) Presenting sponsor Karen Chitty-Boe of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land with Aldo Jefferson, the evening ’s featured speaker
