Minute Maid and Houston Astros Partner to Renovate Baseball Field
Dream League enables children with disabilities to play America’s favorite past time
rand Slam For Youth Baseball, a partnership between Minute Maid and the Houston
Astros dedicated to renovating one youth baseball/softball field each year,
recently held a field dedication ceremony for the program
’s 2009 recipient.
The First Colony Little League Dream League is a unique league that enables
children ages 5-18 years with physical and/or mental disabilities to play
baseball.
Following the dedication, in which Houston Astros owner Drayton McLane was on
hand to help dedicate the field, the Dream League players played a brief,
two-inning game with Houston Astro Brandon Backe pitching to the players.

• Astros’ Owner Drayton McLane was on hand to help dedicate the field. • Following the dedication, the Dream League players played a brief, two-inning
game in which Houston Astro Brandon Backe pitched to the players, including
Abby Tassin.
