10) Cart Tart Cherie Miller looks like a princess on her pink “float,” which carted shoppers to the entrance. Shoppers from all over came out for the
annual FBJSL event.
11) Sugar Fairies Melissa Hayslip, FBJSL president, Brigit Engleman and Jennifer Blackmer are
dolled up like sugar fairies as they watch the dazzling fashion show that wows
the crowd.
12) What’s Up Doc Docs may suggest apples, but it was all sugar plums and candy wishes at the
show. On hand are top docs from Methodist Hospital including Rajesh Bindal,
M.D.; Amy Saenz; Timothy Sitter, M.D.; Hanh Truong, M.D.; and Ulises Baltazar,
M.D.

14) Dinner Winner Lee Shelton, proud top bidder of the Martha Stewart Gourmet Dinner, hams it up
with Kimberly Crowder, marketing director of Whole Foods Houston, which
sponsored the dinner.
15) Seal of Approval Congressman Pete Olson and wife, Nancy, give their seal of approval for the
tasty event and vote this event a winner.
16) Exchange of Pace The Quail Valley Exchange Club was in full force with guests Virginia and Ken
Wheaton. The 6th annual event featured 21 local restaurants – yum!

18) Scoot your Boots Keith Behrens, development manager of Telfair, and wife, Kimberley, were among
the more than 1,000 who came out to support the ARC. The annual event is a
favorite for many—where else can you scoot your boots on a dirt floor and hear great country
tunes?
19) Best in the West Country music, jeans and jewels are all around, including with this fun group —Jean Goff, Marlene Adams and Steve and Connie Fuqua, who kicked up their boots
for a great time.
20) “Lasso up” Some Fun This fun group of old friends—Kristin and Brian Benton and Mike and Kim Moore—“lassoed” up a great time of western wear and barbecue.
21) Top Bid Sugar Land Mayor Jimmy Thompson and wife, Gay, check out the vast array of
auction items with friends Laura and Jim Richard.
22) Rowdy Time Rowdy Yates of 100.3 KILT served as emcee of the event and sported his patriotic
boots before he took the stage.
23) Arc Angels Margaret and Alan Greenwood support Best in the West, which benefits The Arc of
Fort Bend, an organization that helps maintain services and activities for
citizens with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
24) Stomping Grounds Chris Breaux hams it up with Jeff and Tina Braun at the George Ranch—“stomping grounds” for the Best in the West. Guests walk around to check out the auction items and
catch up with friends.
INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
25) Int’l Success A crowd of an estimated 7,000 turn out at the 2nd annual International Festival
of Fort Bend at the Stafford Centre. Festival co-chairs Manmeet Likhari and
