Fort Bend Lifestyles & Homes August 2009
<<BACK
ark your calendars now for the launch of the Fort Bend Junior Service League’s second cookbook, Treasures from the Bend, Rich in History and Flavor.  The league and presenting sponsor St. Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital will host a party to celebrate the official release of the book at Sugar Land Town Square on  Oct. 15 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

The event, underwritten by Amici, will feature live entertainment, a cash bar and Amici restaurant favorites. Guests will be able to purchase copies of the cookbook for $27.95 and save the shipping and handling.
“The success of our second cookbook can be attributed in large part to the overwhelming generosity the league has received from our sponsors. We were so pleased to receive the early support of St. Luke ’s Sugar Land Hospital as our partner in presenting this project to the community, ” said FBJSL President Brigit Engleman. “FBJSL is incredibly grateful to all of the local businesses, area residents and league members who joined St. Luke ’s in
encouraging our efforts to support our beneficiary, Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels. ”
In addition to St. Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital, other sponsors of the cookbook include the Wynn and Mary Geiger Foundation, Yolanda and Von Celestine, DonDulin.com, New First Bank and Sugar Land Town Square.
Proceeds from the book will benefit Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, a vital program in the community that serves more than 1,000 meals each day in Fort Bend County. The Fort Bend Junior Service League is honored to assist this worthy organization in its efforts to serve seniors in the community.
To reserve a copy of the cookbook,  e-mail cookbook@fbjsl.com or place an online order at fbjsl.com. Cookbooks are $27.95, plus shipping and handling. Books will be mailed in early October. Books will also be available for purchase at upcoming league events including the  Sugar Plum Market in November.
