LAKE POINT Entrepreneurs>>
Upscale residences, urban retail, medical and professional offices, trendy restaurants and world renowned medical facilities are all just a part of the vision that is Lake Pointe Town Center in Sugar Land.

With frontage on Oyster Creek and Brooks Lake, Lake Pointe offers waterfront restaurants, trails for hiking and biking and a connection to retail shops and restaurants via the boardwalk. Easy access within the development and entry to Sugar Land Town Square by bridge makes Lake Pointe the perfect ‘urban lifestyle in the suburbs’  for residents who want to live and play where they work. The Whole Foods Market and Lifetime Fitness are easily accessible to the community by bike or foot.

Area entrepreneurs quickly caught the vision of the pedestrian-friendly urban lifestyle of Lake Pointe. Robert Davis of residential development company HWD, Inc., grasped the vision when Lake Pointe was still in the planning stages and could picture HWD ’s important part in it. Tim Hannah of Hannah Financial Solutions took advantage of the concept of working in a community that gives easy access to his clients. Dr. John Vanderzyl  of Sugar Lakes Family Practice saw the business opportunity of the area and was the first tenant in the medical professional building adjacent to St. Luke ’s Sugar Land Hospital. Kevin Rios caught the vision of a lakefront restaurant and bar with live music on the weekends and boardwalk access for an after dinner stroll.

The ingenuity, prescience and business acumen of these community leaders made them want to be a part of Lake Pointe Town Center. Still in the construction stages, Lake Pointe has room for many more like-minded residents and businesses. Come join them!

Robert Davis, founding partner of HWD, Inc., immediately understood the vision of  Lake Pointe and HWD’s important part in it when HWD, Inc. first met with Planned Community Developers and City of Sugar Land officials. Lake Pointe Town Center features a variety of residential offerings by HWD Homes, including four mini communities. Brick lined paths, antique street lights and architectural variety connect residents with the pulse of the community.
Towne Court Live Work contains 20 homes, located between Lake Pointe Town Center commercial and HWD residential enclaves.
Towne Court was conceived to serve
as a special zone within Lake Pointe to allow a business and/or professional space on the first floor of a select group of homes. By design, the homes are reminiscent of deco 1920s Texas Towne Square architecture. “We chose this aesthetic for its simplicity and elegance, as well as to serve as a physical statement of the idea for which it was created. Cities such as New York, Washington and London established the precedent for Towne Court, ” Davis said.
Towne Court uses include office, professional, limited-by-appointment and boutique establishments. Current resident businesses include an artist ’s studio, real estate agents and financial consultants, to name a few. Architectural
signage is encouraged to showcase the business inside. The interior spaces reflect the exterior with large first floor and loft spaces, oversized store front windows, luxury kitchens, master baths and elevator capability. Homes range from 3,100 to 4,300+ square feet.
Fifteen of the homes are complete. “We are pleased at the success that we have seen in this and the entire community, ” Davis said. “We feel our residents truly have something special in Lake Pointe and Towne Court. Their homes and the entire community are in concert with urbanity and a pedestrian-friendly quality of life. HWD builds homes that endure.
