Sugar Creek Montessori
Fort Bend’s premier Montessori School provides an enriched and nurturing environment, which cultivates a natural desire to learn. The programs are specifically designed to meet the continuous developmental needs of the individual child.
The Montessori didactic and “hands-on” materials serve the purpose of fulfilling the child’s inner urge. The elementary program provides students with a unique environment for learning that combines teaching methods of both the Montessori and traditional curriculums.
“Our focus is the child,” says director Mrs. Trehan. “We believe in understanding and respecting the total development of each child. The habits and skills a child develops in a Montessori environment help him/her to be an acute observer and methodical human being. ”
Established in 1994, the school offers programs for ages 12 months to third grade. In addition to advanced academics, the curriculum includes Spanish, music, art, computer and physical education.

The Towne Creek School
The Towne Creek School, founded in 1983, provides the highest quality early childhood program designed for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, as well as a Kindergarten program and after school experience, in an environment where children feel safe, secure, loved and respected.
The school has been directed by the same owner for the past 25 years. Many teachers, some with the school over 10 years, hold a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, and several have their CDA (Child Development Associate). They provide a creative, hands-on approach, while maintaining the belief in a solid foundation through core curriculum areas. The children are given opportunities to grow to their fullest potential in all areas —social, emotional, physical and cognitive; where individual needs, interests and learning styles are met; where parents and staff work together as a team to ensure an experience that goes beyond the expected, for the children, parents and staff of this program.
Please call 281-499-8030 or visit at 3311 Williamsburg Lane, across from Wal-Mart on Hwy. 6.

Southminster School
For more than 15 years, Southminster School’s commitment to children and their intellectual, spiritual and physical development beginning in the earliest years has provided a compass for future leaders. The academically advanced curriculum and low student/teacher ratio foster the unique talents and abilities of all the children.
Elementary students routinely score in the top 10 percent on national standardized testing and consistently win top honors at regional competitions in science, math, speech and the arts. Southminster School ’s enrichment classes include Spanish, music, art, a unique Science Discovery Center and physical education. Their graduates have attended national leadership summits, are members of the National Honor Society, captains of sports teams, members of student councils, and are volunteers in the community.
Southminster School is accredited by AdvancED (formerly SACS/CASI), a member of HAIS, NAEYC and ACSI, and boasts certification of all elementary and preschool teachers. The combination of a highly qualified staff and the commitment of parents and volunteers have enabled Southminster School to excel at broadening each student ’s world through special events and activities available both on and off campus.

Little Wonders Center
At Little Wonders Learning Center the teachers act as researchers studying children. The teacher acts as a companion. Each child is on a path, she assists the child on finding and walking that path. The teacher also acts as a learning partner who is engaged with the content that engages the children.
The curriculum is Reggio-inspired. This means that the curriculum is “child centered.” Activities are designed in response to the particular strengths, challenges and passions of individual children. Children have the capacity and the right to express their feelings and thinking through many different “languages” or “media.” Good curriculum consists of authentic work that grows from the interest and passions of the children.
At Little Wonders Learning Center their belief is that parents and children are partners in the child ’s education. Joy and friendship should be the principal ingredients of life at school. They also offer after school care, which is education-based and focuses on tutoring and completion of homework assignments. Visit Little Wonders Learning Center at 4743 Lexington Boulevard. 281-208-9545.

CRYSTAL Children
& Teacher Supply

CRYSTAL Children & Teacher Supply can provide you with the tools to help your child excel in education. The gain in confidence and the belief to overcome challenges are extremely important in the growth and development of a child. Unfortunately today the focus is on passing and improving the standardized testing scores, rather than maximizing their potential in learning and real life skills.
Caring, certified teachers provide after-school tutoring at Crystal’s to strengthen learning skills. They believe that effective and challenging studying strategies bring out the most a child has to offer in standardized testing.
Crystal’s provides FREE hour-long workshops to parents needing G/T testing prep information including student nomination and upcoming testing dates, books and games that enhance higher level thinking skills, as well as possible test taking tips. Each month, they hold additional FREE workshops to help parents and teachers find the appropriate materials in a variety of subjects for home and classroom use. Call for more information.
