meadows place hosts splash night. Each year in the city of Meadows Place, Splash Night marks the beginning of  summer. This prominent Meadows Place tradition is a time to meet new people, chat with old friends and just relax. Residents were asked to bring a food pantry item to donate to Sugar Grove Church of Christ.
For the first time ever at Splash Night, Meadows Place held a town meeting hosted and presented by Mayor Charles Jessup. During the town meeting, residents could see on a PowerPoint presentation  what is going on in the city and the newest projects to be introduced for the future of Meadows Place.
Splash Night featured a wide range of fun activities including treasure hunts, Oreo stacking contest, rubber duck fun and the lifeguard big splash contest. Residents also enjoyed sliding on the giant slip and slide and jumping in the foam pit.
The parks directors worked alongside volunteers John Glona, Jim Creassor and Stephen Gray to prepare and cook hot dogs and hamburgers. The City Hall ladies—Patty Spade, Elaine Herff, Kathi Sutten, Beverly McMinn, Mimi Boos, Carrie Greg and Melody and Randy Vaal were all on hand to dish out treats.

Hospital. In addition to medical equipment sized specifically for children, the new center features an on-site, board-certified pediatrician from 5 p.m.-11 p.m. daily —the peak period for children’s emergency visits. At other hours, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land’s board-certified emergency physicians care for young patients in the Children’s Emergency Center.
While some area hospitals automatically transfer children to the Texas Medical Center, Children ’s Memorial Hermann Sugar Land is equipped to care for them in its fifth floor pediatric unit. This unit features child-friendly decor, complete with whimsical murals, as well as art, music, massage and pet therapies. Hospital-based pediatricians work collaboratively with the patients ’ primary care physicians to care for any children who are admitted to the hospital.
The synergy between Memorial Hermann Sugar Land and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital means pediatric specialists are available to consult on more challenging cases.
If a higher level of care is required, Memorial Hermann Life Flight® air ambulance can transport patients from its base in Sugar Land to the Southwest or Texas Medical Center hospitals in a matter of minutes.
The Williams family—Kara Ann and Matt with sons Zackary, Austin and Matthew tour the Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital ambulance. • Sashko Conrad gets a closer look at the inside of Life Flight.
