Christmas Home Tour Delights Guests with Holiday Visions. The 2008 CASA Christmas Home Tour raised more than $200,000 to help abused
children in Fort Bend County. Benefiting Child Advocates of Fort Bend, this
year
’s tour featured six spectacular homes filled with a myriad of holiday visions
including a candy tree, a safari tree, a tree of wooden Mexican toys and
instruments and a Boston Red Sox-themed room complete with a tree adorned with
Red Sox baseballs and candy canes, as well as miles of garland, lights and
ribbon.
The tour is one of the major sources of funds for Child Advocates of Fort Bend. “I never cease to be amazed by the incredible success of the tour,” said Susie Moseley, CAFB executive director. “Every year I think that the tour can’t get any better, but once again the committee, homeowners, decorators,
florists, entertainers and many others involved have found ways to make it new
and special.
”
“It is truly heartwarming to see thousands of volunteers, entertainers, tour
guests and sponsors join together to ensure that the abused and neglected
children of Fort Bend County have a chance to recover from their trauma,
” added Moseley. “We touch the lives of more than 400 abused children each month. Without the
tour, this work would not be possible.
”
Child Advocates of Fort Bend is a nonprofit agency dedicated to advocating on
behalf of abused and neglected children through the use of specially trained
community volunteers and staff. These efforts ensure that children who have
been abused have a better chance to grow up in a safe, permanent and loving
