texas aggie muster, april 21
The annual Texas Aggie Muster will be held on April 21 at Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club beginning at 6 p.m. The event honors  all Texas Aggies who have passed away within the last year.
Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., dinner  at 6:30 p.m. and the program immediately following. Ken Hall ‘57 is a retired American football player whose greatest accomplishments were as a high school athlete.

Fort bend teen service league information meeting, april 23
The Fort Bend Teen Service League is seeking new members for the 2009-10 service year. High school girls who are interested in becoming an active part of the Fort Bend community are invited to attend the FBTSL ’s first new member informational meeting on April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Colony Library located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land.

2009 County Judge’s Volunteer Fort Bend Awards Ceremony, April 23
The 2009 County Judge’s Volunteer Fort Bend Awards ceremony will be held on  April 23 at 7:30 a.m. at Sweetwater Country Club. The ceremony honors and recognizes Fort Bend County ’s most outstanding volunteers and their accomplishments.

MINUTE MAID MAGIC IN SUGAR LAND TOWN SQUARE, april 23

Holy Rosary’s Venetian
Ball, April 24
A playground of mystery and playful intrigue is set for Holy Rosary’s 7th Annual Spring Gala. The Venetian Ball-themed event will take place on April 24 at Safari Texas Ranch.
Guests can anticipate a whimsical and festive evening with a taste of Venice featuring live and silent auctions, a decadent Venetian dinner and live entertainment. Ladies and Gentlemen: The Beatles!
The Clements Stars dance team will present its annual spring show April 24 and April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Clements Auditorium. The theme for this year ’s show is “The Beatles,” taking you back to the era when the Beatles were in full swing. Enjoy the music that made this group one of the most widely remembered icons in 20th century music. Tickets can be purchased before the show for $6 by calling the dance office at 281-634-2204 or tickets can be purchased at the door for $8.

Afternoon Tea & Mother Daughter Style Show,
april 25
Fishers of Men Lutheran Church is hosting an afternoon tea and style show on April 25 at 2 p.m. to benefit the Children of Promise and Lutheran Women ’s Missionary League projects. That day the sanctuary will be transformed into a beautiful tearoom and guests will be treated to flavorful teas, tea fare to rival the finest tearooms anywhere, and a wonderful style show. Each attendee will receive a gift bag and an opportunity to win a door prize. The church is located at 2011 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land.
The Children of Promise are abused, neglected and abandoned children who receive help, healing and hope from the affiliated ministries of Lutheran Social Services, the largest provider of services for children in Texas. They have residential treatment centers, an award-winning foster care program and an adoption program.

Fort Bend County Memory Walk Volunteer Reception, april 28
As many as 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease today.
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research, dedicated to eliminating this disease. A volunteer reception will be held Tuesday, April 28, from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.

Missouri City “Spring Clean and Green” Event, april 25
Missouri City is "going green" with a “Spring Clean and Green” event on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Community Park, 1700 Glenn Lakes Boulevard. The event will include a spring clean up along roads in Missouri City and a “Walk for Trees” nature walk supporting the city’s tree planting
program.

St. Laurence Catholic School 17th Annual Auction and Dinner, may 2
“ Key to the Treasure” is the theme of the 2009 annual auction benefiting St. Laurence Catholic School. The fun-filled evening will take place at 6 p.m. on May 2 at the Marriott Town Center in Sugar Land.  
The event includes dinner and dancing to music by the band, WHAT is HIP. The event ’s activities include live and silent auctions, a raffle and the “Big Board,” which serves as a mini-live auction with an interactive form of bidding. A two-night stay at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, Calif., and a trip for six to Las Vegas are just a couple of the exciting items confirmed for this year ’s live auction.
Party Wall tickets will also be available for purchase for a second year in a row. These are themed parties or events that will occur at various dates throughout the coming months, and they are priced either per person or per couple.

Many churches, businesses, schools and communities observe National Day of Prayer with prayer events.
Be encouraged to organize events at your school, church, business, community, and plan to attend events being observed for this year ’s National Day of Prayer on May 7. pecan grove women’s club, may 12
Join the ladies of Pecan Grove Women’s Club and take a look back into history—the Civil War to be exact. Chuck Bertrand, husband of the women’s club president, will be reading from family letters of the Civil War period. These letters were written by Chuck ’s great-uncle, Orlando French, to his wife during the war.
All ladies and their spouses in the area are invited to attend the meeting at Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club, beginning at 9:30 a.m. for chat and beverages. Missouri City Little League Offers Program for Children with Disabilities
Missouri City Little League will launch a new MVP League, which is modeled after the Challenger division of Little League of America. This league is designed for children with disabilities, ages 5 to 18. The program is scheduled to launch in the spring.
The season will consist of six to eight games and 50 players. The MVP League is free to players.  
MCLL is also looking for “buddies” to assist the league. Anyone 12 years or older may register to be a buddy.

Missouri City’s Citizens’ Police and Fire Academy Accepting Applications
The Missouri City police and fire departments will hold their annual Citizens’ Police and Fire Academy beginning April 7. The six-week program will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. in the city ’s Public Safety Headquarters, 3849 Cartwright Road. Applications are available at the Public Safety Headquarters or online at www.missouricitytx.gov.
Participants will receive hands-on training in a range of activities, from staged traffic stops to crime scene investigations. Clements Stars dance camp,  
june 8-11
The Clements Stars Dance team’s annual summer dance camp is set for June 8-11 from 8 a.m.-noon at the school. This year ’s theme is “Wild about Dance” and it is going to be an exciting, fun-filled camp. Participants will enjoy crafts and activities, learn choreography and technique, as well as all the chants and fight songs that are used at Clements High School football games.
